Life in the U.K. - 4

Political correctness is alive and well in the U.K.

And getting completely ridiculous and out-of-hand.

I'm going to leave my comments at that, as my Welsh - Dutch - English - French - American Indian ancestry probably doesn't allow me to have an opinion.

Yikes. I wonder what they would think if the official policy was that the *only* people who could legally be called "British" were people born in England. Think that exclusion be ok with them?

ps. Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow. I mean, seriously? I know that each essentially has their own government (subordinate to Her Majesty, of course), but that is pretty ridiculous. That's like saying I don't want to be called an American because it lumps me in with George Bush. Then again ...

Follow up to Sara K., what are you doing for Thanksgiving? Some people knew about July 4th while I was there, but I imagine few if any know about Thanksgiving.

Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks guys. I'm not doing anything special for Thanksgiving. A friend did invite me up to Cambridge for a dinner, but the cost of the train ticket, and the effort she would have had to put in, just weren't the effort.

The woman I know who I go out with, even thugh she has a boyfriend and says she doesn't want a relationship with me, offered to take me to dinner, but her boyfriend bought tickets to a movie, so she can't do that now.

So, it looks like KFC (hey, a dead bird) and a night at the pub. My life!

But I see Neeve on Saturday, so it's all good.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
